Does it need maintenance?
No. Properly applied mastic is a permanent repair. What is worth re-checking is the flex itself, which sags and gets crushed by anything stored on top of it.
Can it be done during another visit?
Accessible sealing often can be, during a tune-up or an install. A whole-system sealing job in a tight attic is scheduled on its own and we will tell you which one yours is after we have been in the attic.
How much will this save me?
We will not give you a number, and be careful with anyone who does before they have measured your ducts. What we can tell you is what your static pressure reads, where the leaks are, and what the rooms at the end of the run do afterwards — which is the thing you actually notice.
