Replacing an air conditioner is not a same-afternoon decision, and anybody who tells you it is on the phone has not seen your house. We measure the load, look at your ductwork and your electrical, tell you what the existing line set can and cannot do, and give you a written price with the scope on it before anybody pulls a permit.

How the visit actually goes
We measure the house, not the old unit
Square footage, orientation, glazing, insulation, and the duct system you actually have. A replacement sized off the sticker on the condenser repeats whatever mistake was made the first time.
You get options in writing, with the repair number beside them
Two or three equipment options with the efficiency ratings stated, and — if the existing system can be repaired — that number next to them. You should be able to compare them at the kitchen table without us in the room.
Install day, one crew, one day for a straight changeout
Recovery, removal, set, braze under nitrogen, evacuate to a measured micron level, weigh in the charge, and commission it. Multi-system homes and duct modification run longer and we say so before we book it.
Commissioning and the numbers you keep
Subcooling or superheat against the manufacturer's target, static pressure across the air handler, supply-to-return split, and amp draws. You get the readings on paper. The inspection follows.

About efficiency ratings
We will tell you the rating on any equipment we quote, and we will tell you what it is measured under. What we will not do is convert it into a number of dollars for your house. The variables that decide that — duct leakage, insulation, how you actually run the thermostat, and the weather — are all larger than the difference between two ratings, and we would be guessing at every one of them.

Questions people ask before booking
How long does a straight changeout take?
One day for a single system with no duct modification, usually eight to ten hours. If the plenum has to be rebuilt, the line set replaced through a finished ceiling, or the electrical service touched, it goes to two days and we tell you that before you sign.
What actually changes the price?
Duct modification, line-set replacement versus flush-and-reuse, electrical upgrades, code corrections the inspector will look for, a second system, and how hard the equipment is to get to. The published range below covers a straight replacement and says what it excludes.
Can you reuse my existing line set?
Sometimes. It depends on the diameter against the new equipment, its condition, and what refrigerant ran through it. A line set that carried a burned-out compressor's acid should not carry a new one. We flush and pressure-test it, or we replace it, and we tell you which before we quote it — not after we open the wall.
Do I need a permit?
Yes. There is no state permit requirement in Georgia — the state deletes the administrative chapter that would create one — but every jurisdiction we work in requires a mechanical permit for equipment replacement, and the permit is in our price. In Cherokee County it is a flat mechanical service permit issued only to state-licensed technicians.
What does the warranty actually cover?
The parts warranty is the manufacturer's, not ours, and its length depends on registration. Read the registration terms below — the number people quote and the number you get are two different things unless somebody files the paperwork.
