Repair

Air Conditioning Repair in Woodstock, GA

24/7 emergency service

Broken at 2am? That's the number.

(770) 555-0187

No heat under 40° · No cooling over 85° · Gas smell · Water on the floor · A breaker that keeps tripping

One number, day or night, holidays included. It rings a rotation of our own technicians, not an answering service in another state.

When the air conditioning quits in July, you want somebody to say a time and then show up at it. We run repair calls seven days a week and after hours, and we tell you what is wrong, what it costs to fix, and what it costs to replace — all three numbers, before we touch anything.

What's included

  • A full diagnostic, not a guess from the curb — electrical, refrigeration and airflow
  • Capacitor microfarad reading against the rated value, not a visual check for a bulge
  • Charge assessed against the manufacturer's target subcooling or superheat, never by pressure alone
  • Compressor and condenser fan amp draws compared to nameplate
  • Condensate drain, trap and float switch checked and the float tested wet
  • Static pressure measured when the symptom points at airflow
  • The repair price, the replacement price, and the honest read on which one makes sense
  • Common parts on the truck — capacitors, contactors, condenser fan motors, float switches

How the visit actually goes

  1. You get a window, and we call before we come

The dispatcher who books you is the person deciding whose truck goes where, and she is in our office. After hours the call goes to an on-call technician on a rotation, not to an answering service in another state.

  2. We diagnose it with instruments

Meters on the electrical, gauges and a probe on the refrigeration side, and a manometer if the symptom smells like airflow. A refrigerant top-off with no leak search is not a diagnosis, it is a deposit on the next call.

  3. You get three numbers before anything is touched

What the repair costs, what a replacement costs, and what we would do in your position. If the system is fifteen years old with a failed compressor and a leaking coil, we will say so instead of quoting a repair we do not believe in.

  4. We fix it, then verify it

After the repair we re-check the charge, the amp draws and the temperature split, so the thing we came for is confirmed fixed rather than assumed fixed.

Questions people ask before booking

  • How fast can you get here?

Often the same day during business hours. Nights, weekends and holidays we run an emergency rotation and a technician calls you back. Comfort Club members get scheduled ahead of non-members, which is most of what people join for in July.

  • Do you charge for the diagnostic?

Yes, there is a flat diagnostic fee for a service call, and we tell you what it is on the phone before we dispatch. It is waived for Gold and Platinum Comfort Club members.

  • My system is low on refrigerant. Can you just add some?

We can, and on its own that is a bad deal for you. Refrigerant does not get used up — if it is low, it left through a leak, and it will leave again. We will find the leak and price the repair. If you want a charge to get through a weekend while you decide, we will do that too, and tell you plainly what it is buying you.

  • Repair or replace?

The rule of thumb we actually use: if the repair is more than about a third of a replacement and the system is past twelve, replacement usually wins. Under that, fix it. The refrigerant a system uses moves that line too, because an older refrigerant on a leaking coil changes the arithmetic.

  • Do you work on systems you did not install?

    Yes, on any residential brand.

The person who shows up

The after-hours rotation is our own technicians rather than an answering service. This is one of them.

Tim runs the service board and takes the after-hours calls that come in past midnight. Nineteen years in the trade, eighteen of them here. He is the person who will tell you your system has four good years left instead of selling you one tonight.
